A private room for the parents in your child’s class.

Help each other with pick-ups, rosters and the week ahead. And when something isn’t right, raise it with the school together, in your own name, with every date on the record.

Silence protects the problem, not the child.

Children don’t always tell, and each parent hears only a piece. Nobody wants to be “that parent”, or to make things harder for their child.

In your class’s room, one parent asks and the others can tap “Me too”. One worry becomes a pattern, and a pattern is hard to wave away.

Class 2A parent room: Example

Hannah K. Discussion

Has anyone else’s child stopped wanting to go out at lunch?

Mia says some bigger kids keep pushing the little ones off the oval and calling them names. No teacher is down that end.

Priya N. Same here. Leo said it last week. I thought it was just him.

Next, Hannah can turn it into a request to the school.

One request, with the class behind it.

When enough of you have noticed, the parent who asked turns it into a request. Each parent chooses to be counted, or named as well.

It goes from your own email. The school replies through a link, no account needed, and the answer comes back to the room, dated.

No answer? You’ll know where it goes next.

Every state, and every kind of school, has its own path past the principal. Assembly lays it out: who comes next, and how long they say they’ll take.

It flags the windows that close on you, like Victoria’s 30 days to ask for a review.

See the path for your school

The pathway Victoria, government schools: Example
  1. The school You are here

Two weeks on, no reply to the class’s request about bullying. A short follow-up is a fair next step.

No period published No fixed time for the school itself.

  2. Department regional office

Reviews it if it isn’t resolved at the school.

Their time to respond 30 school days, a target

  3. Central Office Review

If you think the region’s outcome got department policy wrong.

Your time to act Ask within 30 days of the region’s outcome

  4. Victorian Ombudsman

Looks at how the department handled it, after its own process.

Their time to respond Most standard investigations within 12 months

Victoria’s published policy for government schools, checked July 2026. Your path depends on your state and your school.

A village is built on ordinary days.

You can’t stand beside strangers. The parents who cover your late pick-up are the ones who’ll back you when it matters.

So the room is for everyday things too. Ask for a hand, share a roster, and get a Sunday note about the week ahead.
